Hospitals around the country have been asking us for videos that define DE&I and help them navigate the topic in the boardroom. Our new series was developed to help board members understand DE&I, the role of the Board, key considerations, and real-world implementation. This series includes:
1. What is DE&I? – A 90-sec Power Lesson that provides a definitional understanding of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion.
2. Starting the Conversation: DE&I and the Board – Laura Orr discusses the role of the Board in DE&I and presents key considerations for boards getting started on the conversation.
3. The Emergence of the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Imperative – Mary Ellen Beliveau has a conversation with Dr. David Nash about the emergence of the DE&I imperative and what hospital leadership should be thinking about as they assess what DE&I looks like in their organizations.
4. Advancing Health Equity: Creating and Sustaining Change – A video discussion about how healthcare systems can begin to address this issue within their organizations; This course provides a case study of a health equity initiative implemented by the Henry Ford Health System.
